Seventh-day Adventist Church
In the mid-1800's, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg helped establish the first Adventist medical facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. Since that early beginning, Seventh-day Adventist medical facilities began to grow throughout the United States and the world.
Adventist Health System is sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was established in 1973 to operate a region of their hospitals as part of a worldwide humanitarian mission. Around the world, the Church operates over 500 healthcare facilities dedicated to helping people achieve mind, body, and spiritual wholeness. This concept of whole person health influences many of our personal lifestyle choices and continues to shape our philosophy of healthcare.
