Jeffrey D. Villanueva will soon rejoin Metroplex Health System as its new vice president of Metroplex Adventist Hospital and administrator of Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
Villanueva worked at Metroplex in 1999 and 2000 as an executive fellow with the Adventist Health System Management Residency Program. For the last six years, he has served as vice president of clinical & support services at Grandview Hospital & Medical Center – Kettering Medical Center Network in Dayton, Ohio.
“I have very fond memories of working with the administrators, directors and medical staff at Metroplex and I look forward to returning,” said Villanueva who will take up post on Feb. 12. He replaces Larry Luce who had served in the position for seven years. Luce and his wife, Jana, recently moved to Marietta, Ga. to open and manage an assisted living facility.
As Metroplex’s new vice president, Villanueva will oversee several ancillary service departments and facilities and will serve as the administrator of Rollins Brook Community Hospital. At Grandview, Villanueva provided executive leadership and management for all ancillary and support departments and was responsible for the business development of the orthopedic, neuroscience and outpatient service lines. Prior to working there, he completed a three-year residency program, rotating through administrative positions at Florida Hospital East Orlando, Florida Hospital Altamonte, Metroplex Health System and Huguley Memorial Medical Center in Fort Worth. He completed a bachelor of business administration degree at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tenn., in 1994 and a master of health administration degree at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, Calif. in 1997. He also completed a health management internship in international marketing at Dana Faber Cancer Institute in 1996.

Villanueva is married to Shelly, who is the daughter of Dr. Barry and Joni Siebenlist of Killeen. They have two daughters, Makayla, 22 months, and Alyssa, 7 months.
